Art
Brent invites us to see some works of his on view in a show at Chatham in the Susan Bergman Gurrentz ’56 Art Gallery in Woodland Hall. Brent’s pieces are a vajra and vajra sword, hand carved from basswood, based on a Japanese style of Manjushri sword. The display box for the sword also incorporates a lotus and flames motif.
The show is up until February 27, with gallery hours 11-6 during the week. Enter the gallery at the entrance on the side of Woodland Hall facing the library.
Almost Perfect
Brent has also been developing a new micro-press, Almost Perfect, specializing in hand-bound, small-batch publications, featuring emerging writers and artists, and other short texts, and offering chapbooks as handmade objects created with mindful intention and care. Among the first titles are Varun’s chapbook Intermezzo and a reprint of The Diamond Sutra.
